Little Nippers
(AGES 3-5 SCHOOL YEARS NURSERY AND RECEPTION) (Parental involvement)
Little Nippers sessions are specially designed fun play sessions for children in the foundation stage. We use a range of innovative equipment and learning techniques to enable children to develop fundamental skills along with their parents including;
- Physical skills - Agility, Balance and Co-ordination
- Creative skills - using imagination and role play to bring activities to life
- Personal, social and emotional skills - learning how to work as part of a group and take turns!!
- Communication skills - interacting with others and developing the confidence to speak in group situations
Innovative equipment
We use a wide range of equipment to enable children to develop agility, balance and co-ordination including beach balls, sponge balls, small balls, large balls, balloons, hoops, whistles and much more.
Innovative teaching/learning techniques
We use a combination of music, storybook coaching and a child centred approach to bring sessions to life for children. Music not only acts as a motivation for children but also helps them to develop their natural rhythm and co-ordination.
Story book coaching is a technique which brings activities to life particularly for younger children a marker cone is never just a cone in one of our sessions, it could be anything from a sleeping crocodile to a flying saucer!
Wherever possible we aim to provide children an opportunity to develop the direction of each session, encouraging them to ask questions and add ideas which develops communication skills, creativity and of course their motivation.
