Hotshots
(AGES 9-11 SCHOOL YEARS 5+6)
The Hotshot stage encourages young players to think about how the game develops and works. We continue to develop individual and team skills but also begin to develop thinking skills. Without understanding the most common situations that occur in the game young players will find it difficult to make correct decisions; without mastering the playing skills, on the other hand these decisions cannot be carried out.
By exposing young players to many different simplified games we enable them to learn how to be in the right place on the field at the right time.
Innovative equipment
As young players develop basic ball techniques we begin to challenge them with new equipment and resources including reaction balls, which are designed to improve their reaction to the ball, step hurdles and speed agility hoops.
Innovative teaching/learning techniques
In the Hotshots stage we encourage players to make more complex decisions in relation to real game situations, using the skills they have learnt in the earlier stages.
We develop the game of Futsal further as well as 6v6 games to create real game situations close control and improved passing technique.
Video is also used more frequently in this stage to enable players to analyse their own and other player performances.
