Allstars
(AGES 7-9 SCHOOL YEARS 3+4)
The Allstars stage involves a progression to simplified games for teams of two to three players in which the children not only experiment with and improve their skills but also build up their communication and co-operation skills.
It is very important to remember that boys and girls at this age should still be regarded as children and not mini-adults. The concentration span of children in the Allstars group is still limited and sessions are therefore delivered with frequent changes of pace and activity.
Innovative equipment
As children develop their basic skills with the ball they are able to use more complex equipment to develop skills further. In the Allstars stage we use soccer tennis which helps develop ball control as well as communication skills and also introduce Futsal which is a game played with a specially designed ball which has only a 30% rebound of compared to a normal football.
Innovative teaching/learning techniques
We use a combination of music and video and a child centred approach to bring sessions to life for children. Music not only acts as a motivation for children but also helps them to develop their natural rhythm and co-ordination. Video can act as a real motivational and coaching tool as information is delivered in an entertaining and visual format.
As with the Little Nippers stage we aim to provide children with an opportunity to develop the direction of each session, encouraging them to ask questions and add ideas which develops communication skills, creativity and of course their motivation.
