SoccAssess™ is a simple tool which enables children/young people to assess their football skills against a set of consistent criteria.
SoccAssess™ provides each child/young person with a baseline from which they can measure their progress over a number of days/weeks/years.
SoccAssess™ can be used by coaches/teachers to assess children’s football skills, identify any strengths and weaknesses and provide advice in the form of a short report on how they can improve on their overall performance.
Children taking part in football coaching courses carry out a number of skill challenges during the first course they attend. Each age group 5-7, 7-9 and 9-11 will carry out slightly different tests that get progressively more difficult as they get older. These are deliberately simple tests that can be set up easily.
The coach records results of the tests manually and then feed these onto a computer software package (SoccAssess™) which can then be used to print out a report for the child/parent. The results of the tests are then kept on a file so that future reports can always refer to the original results and show progress made.
Soccer schools, football clubs and schools have the aim of improving the football skills of each child that attends their activities. Whilst there is an emphasis on fun most parents are be keen to know that their child has learnt something during their attendance.
